 My coaching practice (EQ Matters NZ) focuses on the development of emotional intelligence (EQ) and the practice of mindfulness as a prerequisite for developing skills that help students to be academically and emotionally successful. 

​As a parent of teenagers, a teacher with over 20 years experience and a Life & Mindfulness Coach, I am very familiar with the challenges students are facing and am passionate about working alongside them to help find solutions that will work for them.
​
My approach as an Emotional Wellbeing Coach is based on neuroscience, positive psychology, emotional intelligence and mindfulness, and is therefore focused not only on academic achievements but on the greater well-being of each person I have the privilege to coach/mentor. 
Science has proved that practising mindfulness is an antidote to anxiety and stress. Combining life coaching strategies with the practice of mindfulness is incredibly empowering and has the result of providing sustainable change for the client in their ability to manage life’s challenges.
​For this reason, my approach to coaching students is beneficial not just for the student, it also benefits the school and the family.

The practice of mindfulness has been scientifically proven to improve attention, mental resilience and emotional regulation.

​​I facilitate student workshops that focus on achieving the following outcomes for students aged 15+.


  *Increased focus & engagement
  *Less time spent on devices
  *Ability to plan and apply time management skills to  study.
  *Avoid last minute cramming & the stress associated with this.
  *Become aware of what triggers being  unmotivated & learn how to manage these triggers.
  *Learn about the benefits of mindfulness to help   manage worry & procrastination
  *Ability to use strategies to ease stress & anxiety
  *Gain an understanding of the importance of being able to manage emotions
  *Develop strategies for recognising and using emotions appropriately.


​ Research shows that once young people can recognise and manage their own emotions, they are far more likely to be able to apply strategies to help them with distractions, stress & anxiety, pressure, time management, motivation, and engagement.

$250 per workshop for <30 Students or $450 for 2 workshops (when both workshops are facilitated on the same day)
